How it works

Small daily steps, a tutor every week, and nothing that restarts.

Everstep combines three things most tuition keeps separate: daily practice at exactly the right level, a trained one-to-one tutor, and one record of everything your child has done.

  1. 1

    Free maths assessment

A relaxed 30-minute check, at home or online. We look at accuracy and speed, not just whether your child gets there, to find the point where maths stops feeling easy.

    30 minutes · free · no obligation
  2. 2

A starting level, usually a little below school

Children who rush ahead with shaky basics get stuck later. Starting slightly below school level lets them build speed and confidence first, then move up quickly.

You get the result and the reasoning, in plain words
  3. 3

    A short worksheet every day

About 15 minutes at home. Each worksheet is marked, and your child moves to the next step only once the current one is accurate and quick. If not, they repeat it with fresh questions, never the same sheet twice.

15 minutes a day · marked with ticks, never red crosses
  4. 4

    A one-to-one lesson every week

At your home or online. The tutor works on whatever the worksheets show is stuck, and on what's happening at school. You get the plan before the lesson and a summary after it. If a tutor ever has to stop, the next one picks up from your child's record.

  5. 5

    A weekly update for you

Days practised, scores, time taken and the level they're on, so you always know where your child stands without having to ask.

Levels

Placed by ability, not age

Every child starts where they actually are. These are the broad stages; the assessment finds the exact step.

Junior · usually ages 5 to 9

Number confidence

  • Counting, number bonds and place value
  • Adding and subtracting, then carrying and borrowing
  • Times tables and division facts, to speed
  • Multi-digit multiplication and division
Core · usually ages 10 to 15

From fractions to algebra

  • Long multiplication, division and order of operations
  • Fractions, decimals, percentages and ratio
  • Negative numbers and algebraic expressions
  • Equations, indices and factorising, towards IGCSE and SPM

What we ask of you

Daily practice only works if it happens daily. Three small things make the difference.

  • 15 minutes a day. Same time each day works best, for example after school or before dinner.
  • A quiet spot. A table, a pencil and no screens nearby.
  • A glance at the weekly update. Your encouragement matters more than ours.

Start with one step.
